The Sew Together Bag. Posted on September 3, 2015. This is my fourth version of the Sew Together Bag. Previously this year, I made THREE of these puppies as pencil pouches for my children for school. Act of motherly loving self-sacrifice, it was. I don't think this fourth version will be my last, but I'm not sure yet-the Sew Together Bag.

Its super light weight but still sturdy and doesnt add bulk when sewing. Zippers: First: ZipIt on Etsy sells a Sew Together Bag kit for $2.30 that comes with the zipper sizes you need for one bag and you pick colors! Second: Don't be afraid!Im sure you can see from the photo below that all these zipper panels are connected together.

I tapped into the helpful online quilting community and enjoyed the process.

If you are ready to make a bag of your own you can pick up the pattern here. Sew Together Bag pattern. I recommend grabbing a paper pattern, as this bag requires a template and I don't trust my printer to print true to size. For the outer panel I chose to go scrappy, digging into my Art Gallery scraps. Using scraps from my Art Gallery Clover.

1: I switched out the interfacing for the exterior to peltex. I like stiff bags and this definitely gives it a stiffer feel. I also used shape-flex to interface the interior pockets. Again, this was a personal choice because I want my bag to keep its shape. 2: The exterior is pieced, and I love it! I used 2″ squares and my little 3-1/4.

I think this is a really fun pattern and the Sew Along makes it accessible to everyone. I think it was worth the time to make and does yield a unique, fun bag!
